Betty has been very active in the foster care system, serving as president of the Tennessee Foster Adoptive Care Association for six years. She has also served on the National Foster Parent Association in various positions and was employed with the University of Tennessee training foster parents and case workers. In her role as an inspirational
speaker, she has shared her knowledge about foster care through
keynote speeches at numerous associations across the country, Betty
is the published author of many articles about foster care and she
conducts workshops and training seminars for foster/adoptive
parents. Her first book, “From Trial to Triumph – One Foster
Parent’s Journey” has been printed and is now available -

The book was written to provide encouragement and information to other foster parents who open their hearts and homes to care for children placed in the welfare system and for those who might be interested in becoming foster parents.
